BASSES
KEVIN FORD
Kevin has enjoyed singing all his life, singing a variety of parts
from bass to first tenor. He joined Paradigm Vocal Ensemble in 2000. While completing a Bachelors degree in German at Baylor
University, he performed with the A Cappella Choir and Men’s Glee Club. Kevin has been a member of several church choirs and
has assisted as a layman by singing the liturgy. In addition, he sang tenor for three years in the Dallas Area Lutheran
Chorale. Kevin holds Masters degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington in both Mathematics and German. He teaches
Mathematics at Fort Worth Country Day School.
DAVID PURCELL
David Purcell, baritone, has been involved with music his entire life. He was an active member of youth choirs at his
church and he first joined a choir in school in the 8th grade. He sang in the select choir in high school all four years and has also been in the select
choir at Texas Christian University for four years as well. Beyond the choir setting, he sings contemporary Christian solos at his church, festivals,
and conventions. David graduates this spring from TCU with a degree in Music Education. Following graduation, he plans to enter Lutheran Seminary to
become a pastor, youth pastor, and music minister. David joined Paradigm in 2007.
JASON RENKEN
Jason Renken, second bass, started singing for school and church at the age of nine and has participated
in small groups and choirs ever since. He sang with Burton Academy Chorale and joined Paradigm in 1995 as one of the youngest members ever.
He remains the only member invited while still in high school. During high school, college, and since, music and visual arts have been a
major part of his life. He has traveled to several states both as a professional singer and as a media consultant. Jason graduated from
the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. He has worked as a graphics supervisor and continues
as a freelance artist with projects in graphic design, photography, and video. He also works in financial consultation for an
international financial services company. Jason currently serves as both Vice-President and Director of Communication for Paradigm Vocal
Ensemble.
ABRAHAM SARMIENTO
Abraham Sarmiento has been a member of Paradigm since 1999. Involved with both varsity sports and the choral program
during high school, Abraham continued both interests through college, singing with UTA's Chamber Singers and A Cappella Choir as
well as being an avid golfer. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business from
the University of Texas at Arlington in 2003. He is currently a personal banker at Wells Fargo with aspirations of becoming a
business analyst and then a regional president.
